The Socialist Party lost its majority in today's parliamentary session, failing to gather 71 votes to approve the draft decisions.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, attempted to cancel the vote, arguing that a mistake had been made.
Meanwhile, the opposition said that voting was interrupted because the Socialist Party did not have the necessary votes.
Reading the names of the Socialist MPs present in the Assembly showed that there were only 67 MPs, while 18 others were absent, including Prime Minister Rama and several ministers.
After the debates, the chairman of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, requested a few minutes' break.

Balla: We were informed that the opposition has withdrawn from all initiatives. Blushi informs us that it has not withdrawn from the initiatives. We have no way of discussing the gentleman's initiative. Mr. Speaker, please clarify this for us.
Peleshi: There is an error, the clarification is that the draft decisions are voted on at the end, after the draft laws are discussed. The withdrawn draft laws are not three, but two. The draft law for an addition to the amended law on value added tax has not been withdrawn. So there are only two. The draft decisions will be voted on after the discussion of the draft laws is completed. This error will be corrected.
Shehaj: We are voting, I don't even have the opportunity to see the draft law.
Peleshi: It was a mistake, we can't start the voting process without finishing the discussion. It was a mistake.
Shehaj: Who has withdrawn legally?
Peleshi: Regarding the law on value added tax.
Shehaj: What are these, Mr. Speaker, we were voting. We have an agenda. We also have other draft laws. Let us understand, citizens, that you do whatever you want. In this parliament, voting begins, when you see that you have no votes, you withdraw and say we were joking and start from the beginning. Let us understand, Mr. Speaker, let us understand, you stopped voting in the middle because the majority did not have the votes?! We were voting at a certain moment, we saw that you were counting each other, you did not have the number. How can we do that and you said stop voting.
Peleshi: The voting was not interrupted due to a matter of numbers, because there are more than 70 deputies in the hall. I told you that the voting process was interrupted and this was the mistake, we must admit a human error, because there was still one draft law left undiscussed, which was mistakenly considered as part of the initiatives withdrawn by the deputies. There is no withdrawal, so we will continue with this draft law.
