Prime Minister Edi Rama convened the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Civil Emergencies to address the situation created by the floods of recent days, as a result of intense rainfall.
"Patience is necessary. Reactions feed nervousness, in a situation like this, imaginary culprits are not sought, but real people are helped. They do not need slander and theories, but support and joining forces. This situation has not only affected Albania, but from Italy to Greece, Montenegro and Kosovo, and even Turkey. The same cold, the same rain, have created the same aggravated situation. Climate change does not only mean hot summers, but also more extreme weather. More droughts and more fires and more floods, it is the climate we live in. When we continue to throw garbage and when we set fires to forests, the consequences increase more. So far, there are 1587 homes with the presence of water. 51 families have been evacuated. The amount of rainfall has been extraordinary, more than the average amount that falls throughout the month," said Rama.
