Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has indicated that he will come to Albania the day Edi Rama is no longer prime minister.
During the interview on Syri TV, Ahmetaj also revealed a conversation with former Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati.
According to Ahmetaj, Bushati criticized him for becoming deputy prime minister because Edi Rama is unworthy of leading and has handed the state over to organized crime.
Çim Peka: Under what circumstances would Arben Ahmetaj agree to return to Albania and face justice? Under what conditions?
Arben Ahmetaj : When justice is freed from the clutches of the head of the organization. When justice had a kind, in the sense of respect for the image, I say this as well as the husband of the man, yes the husband of the ladies, another Altin Duman, not in the physical sense, in the sense of mentality. The whip is not, it is not violence. It is not violence, the opportunity for justice to have a human face has been lost in that place. But when it is freed from this, I would come and face justice, and with him, with the head of the organization, who has worked to destroy me all my life and to send me to prison.
Çim Peka: The day that Edi Rama is not prime minister and the justice system does not work for statistics, but investigates to understand corruption, you are ready to come to Albania and...
Arben Ahmetaj: Yes, of course. Yes, I know the truth. I also told you the interview, I have seen the SMS of the head of the organization, when someone says to him, you promised us that you would dissolve it, why did you make him deputy prime minister? I share this with one of my former colleagues.
Çim Peka: Yes.
Arben Ahmetaj: And, and, and, I will return to this former colleague for a moment because, I have an apology to ask. He says, the pear has its tail backwards and then the intrigue began and comes, because you referred to the double standard, on the one hand he says, if I were a prosecutor and a judge...
Çim Peka: I'll go on for a bit here because this is interesting. A former colleague of yours has an SMS with the prime minister when he says...
Arben Ahmetaj: No, not my former colleague. A third person
Çim Peka: He has an SMS with the Prime Minister, he writes to him why you made him Deputy Prime Minister?
Arben Ahmetaj: One of these that comes out in the lottery, TVVKKBBLL? Yes. Yes.
Çim Peka: Are you writing to the Prime Minister why you made him Deputy Prime Minister?
Arben Ahmetaj: You told us you were going to dissolve it, why did you do it...
Çim Peka: And the Prime Minister's response?
Arben Ahmetaj: The pear has its tail back. It doesn't matter anymore.
Çim Peka: No, there is one thing that matters. You were made prime minister to set an example, to do what he did to you, deputy prime minister to do what he did to you?
Arben Ahmetaj: Once again, I forgive you. 100%. Now I will mention my former colleague. I used to eat lunch in the office, just so you know, I used to eat lunch at the work table. Everyone who has worked with me knows that. And I apologize to my friend Ditmir Bushati, I have a long history, in fact, even the first introduction to the Socialist Party, practically we have almost shared a common journey. I think I did the Socialist Party good, but as things went for Ditmir, who also went through genocide, maybe I did him wrong, I introduced him not to the Socialist Party, but to Edi Rama. And he tells me, Ditmir is alive, I don't know where he is now. He says, well, you became deputy prime minister and became stronger. I told him, hey boy, I know what's happening to me.
I'm in the extra game, but I'm not here for the head of the organization. I became, I entered the government again from scratch for the citizens who were on the streets. I know what path I have. I know what's happening. And it reminded me of Albania when I left as deputy prime minister. And the second thing I apologize to him. I have two apologies to Albanians, I have a lot, in relation to the whole thing. We had a discussion with Ditmir Bushati in 2019 and I partially agreed with Ditmir. The first was that he is unworthy to lead the state. Here I agree. And when he told me, why did you come back? I told him, I came back for the people on the streets, I didn't come back for that. He came to my office, in my small office there, Minister of State, and said, please, do it because we are going bankrupt, deal with the pandemic as well. Yes, let him deny it as much as he wants.
Çim Peka: Who came to your office? Rama?
Arben Ahmetaj: Head of the organization.
Çim Peka: In your small office?
Arben Ahmetaj : In the small office. And I apologize to Ditmir for telling me, he has handed over the state to organized crime. I was naive. Did I accept? This is the other apology I ask the Albanians. Of course. But, over the years, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, it is not that he has handed over the state to organized crime. He has returned the private state to the cartels.
Mr. Peka, money, drug money has driven away the class, it has massacred the middle class in Albania. When you say there are no people, drug money is the mother of all evils in that country. From the deformation of the economy, from the social deformation, from the cultural deformation, from the political deformation, uh, from emigration. Do you know, the time has come for you to listen, it is out of fashion not to have someone on your side, a drug cartel or not to deal with drugs, to help the country, because this, this is the Albania of all of us? No, no, this is not my Albania. This Albania belongs to Edi Rama. The Albania of fear, the Albania of the drug cartel, is Edi Rama's Albania.
