From the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center, where Prime Minister Edi Rama met with doctors, nurses and hospital technical staff, he also delivered a speech from the Oncology Department, where he declared that all medications for sick patients will be guaranteed with the new budget, as well as reimbursement for 400 thousand patients.
While emphasizing that this meeting was held "among children who are spending the holidays under medical care and in the Oncology Service, where treatment capacities are increasing," he chose this place precisely to share the end-of-year greetings with doctors, nurses, emergency medical teams and specialists, as they also have the difficult part this end of the year, while they are away from their families.
"It received 50 million euros more than this year and it is not a small amount for our budget. It received an extra 15 million euros just for oncology drugs and another 15 million will be added in the middle of next year to have another support. We will provide the entire oncology system with drugs. And this will be done by networking the system in regional hospitals. By ensuring protocols and all drug insurance. We have set a significant budget to reimburse 400 thousand patients. People talk, but these are things that are part of this vision", said the Prime Minister, among other things, explaining the government's program for next year and what is guaranteed by the budget.
But not only that, he underlined that the ambition for the QSUT platform and the National Tumor Institute will continue, because cancer has already become an international problem, killing many people in the world:
"We will continue with the QSUT platform to close those that have remained unclosed. The ambition is for the National Tumor Institute to have a national network, because it has become an international problem and not just a national one, because cancer is killing everywhere in the world."
The head of government did not forget the white shirts, recalling that the government will also increase their salaries, as well as the corresponding annual indexation.
He also paid attention to the digitalization and modernization of medicine, saying that Artificial Intelligence will also be used in surgical interventions.
"We will increase the salaries of doctors and nurses. They will increase by 35 euros per month, there will also be an annual indexation of salaries for doctors, nurses and technicians, which will go in addition to the increase we talked about. We will increase digitalization and introduce as much Artificial Intelligence as possible for the treatment of patients and their surgical interventions," said Rama.
Finally, the head of the executive extended his congratulations to the white shirts and their families, highlighting the difficult work they face and the distance they have from their loved ones.
"I want to express my respect and gratitude to you and I think that we will do our best to move forward and for most people this work to be tangible day after day. We will increase the quality of the health service next year through the National Emergency and finally, congratulations to all your families. I understand your work, but many others who watch your work from afar do not understand it, because your work takes a lot of energy, you are away from your families most of the time and it is tiring work. Your parents and children miss you, so I wish you good health and that you are as calm and happy as possible at the end of this year", concluded the Prime Minister.
