The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has once again accused the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama of corruption and abuse of public funds, focusing on what he described as the latest and most flagrant case of state affairs.
According to Berisha, the prime minister's aide, Armand Frangu, has won a tender worth 75 million euros to improve artificial intelligence, an action he openly called criminal.
"Only the latest act, Rama's cronies, Armand Frangu, wins the tender for improving AI with 75 million euros. Is there anything more criminal than this?", said Berisha.
He raised questions about the real existence and functioning of artificial intelligence in Albania, emphasizing that AI technology is widely accessible and present on every computer today, through platforms like ChatGPT or DeepSeek. According to him, Albania has not built any real AI system that would justify such a large expenditure.
Berisha also brought to attention financial comparisons, noting that DeepSeek, which he described as “Chinese ChatGPT,” cost about $6 million, while what he called “Edi Rama’s ChatGPT” costs 75 million euros. “How do they steal like this?!” he said, accusing the government of massively wasting taxpayers’ money.
