SPAK has been monitoring and following Jorgo Goro's movements since October of last year, when he was placed under investigation following Fredi Beleri's report, which accuses him of abuse of office.

During this time, the acting mayor of the Municipality of Himara has been under the supervision of agents of the National Bureau of Investigation, who have been following his movements to prevent the possibility of Goro interfering with the evidence, or potential witnesses of the SPAK for the launched investigation.

Goro is accused of abuse of office in two cases, accepting and depositing in the central state institutions falsified documents related to two properties located in the Dhërmi area.

It was in this area that he was handcuffed on Saturday morning at the exit of a coffee bar, owned by the elder of the village of Dhërmi.

Voxnews sources indicate that SPAK's intervention was made under the suspicion that Jorgo Goro was trying to obtain false testimony and other interventions in local and central institutions to spoil the evidence.
