The majority aims to have the Territorial Reform issue resolved by July 2026. This was stated tonight by Arbjan Mazniku, who is expected to be the co-chair of the special parliamentary commission that will be established for Territorial Reform.

Mazniku stated that today a large part of small municipalities have difficulties in exercising the functions they are responsible for. According to him, it is not possible to maintain 61 functional administrations in order to exercise all their duties.

"Political will is generated by a long administrative and governing experience. What we have realized is that a large part of small municipalities today have real difficulties in exercising their functions."

"I definitely belong to the group of people who believe that we cannot maintain 61 functional administrations to provide all the services that the municipality has. So for all the tasks that have been given to the municipality, maintenance and water management, waste management, territory management, cleaning," Mazniku said in "Opinion".

He emphasized in the studio that there is a connection between the size of the community and the better efficiency of its administration.

"We have a series of data that show us that there is a correlation between the size of the municipality and the data ," said Mazniku.
