The first problems have appeared in several voting centers in the municipality of Vlora at the start of the electoral process.

It is reported that there were difficulties with the PEI device for electronic voter identification, as well as delays due to the absence of commission members.

In Vlora, the process has started late and participation continues to be low, due to rainfall and difficult weather conditions.

Today, local by-elections are being held in five municipalities in the country – Vlorë, Berat, Cërrik, Mat and Tepelena. In total, 334,539 citizens with the right to vote are expected to elect new mayors, while 13 candidates from different political forces are in the race.
