Prime Minister Edi Rama published a summary of the cabinet meeting in Pogradec. From security and infrastructure, to health, education, agriculture, tourism and European integration, ministers presented the main priorities for each department.
Among them is the "Smart City" project for public safety, the development of the military industry, the railway projects Tirana-Durrës-Rinas, Vorë-Hani i Hotit and Durrës-Rrogozhinë, as well as the creation of the first agricultural stock exchange. In healthcare, the continuation of the oncology reform was announced.
The discussions also included the "Mountain Package", tourism, business support and the EU integration process. According to Majlinda Dhuka, if the process goes according to expectations, Albania could have a draft EU accession treaty in 2028.
But Rama again placed emphasis on the administration's relationship with citizens and the new system for handling complaints, "Pasqyrë Albania." The Prime Minister explained that through this platform, citizens will be able to track their complaints in real time.
"We must achieve that every request can be made like a letter. So, I initiated the request, I follow it and see where it is and who is responsible. The citizen sees his problem in real time, where it went, who has it, it is stuck here, it is stuck there and the system returns it to the person responsible and that is where the accountability of the person responsible begins at that stage. Why does it hold it? People's requests and complaints cannot be like the bottles that used to throw letters of trust from ships when they sank in the ocean", said Rama.
Below are excerpts from each minister's presentations.
Besfort Lamallari, Minister of Interior: Smart City, a major project of the Albanian government to completely transform the way we approach public security in Albania.
Ermal Nufi, Minister of Defense: With the military industry and with Guna Tactical, we have 75% of the work completed in its shipyard. We have a capacity that will begin full operation within this year. We have 290 employees today employed in the military industry. With the opening of the Guna and MKD shipyards, we will reach 1,000 employees by 2027.
Toni Gogu, Minister of Justice: In the first seven months of the year, free legal aid has handled 4,552 requests compared to less than 3,700 last year, which means we have grown by almost 21.8%.
Petrit Malaj, Minister of Finance: Work is underway to prepare a draft law on Albania's national contribution to the European Union budget.
