Erion Braçe does not give up on the Municipality of Tirana and stings

The socialist MP, who is often a critic of "his own people", has brought back into focus his desire and ambition to run for the Municipality of Tirana in the 2027 local elections.

Through a video published on his social networks, Erion Braçe referred to the "names" that are circulating up and down that certain people have been given support and encouraged to start work with the aim of getting involved in the competition.

"I chose to say a few things here from the Combine. They tell me that so-and-so was given the pistachio to be the mayor. They gave the pistachio that you will become, they told the others who work that you have the opportunity to become and you will become .

"But very good. There is nothing better than for the SP to have an alternative for the candidate for mayor,"  Braçe is heard saying, among other things, further emphasizing that he will be in the race and that he has not waited for a signal from the party structures to start working.

Because, as he clearly states, he has been working on the ground for a long time, holding meetings with citizens and closely following the problems of the capital, from neighborhoods and roads to public services.

"I am one of them and I didn't wait for someone to tell me to start working. I am trying to understand the city and say what I think about the city and what needs to be done to make this city liveable again at its maximum. Just as people want it, clean, green, with services,"  he says from the Combine.

The Socialist MP also calls for a more inclusive process within the Socialist Party. According to him, the Socialists should have a role in selecting the candidate and not simply be faced with a name that has been decided on earlier.

Braça's full post:

From the middle of the Combine:

I don't believe that the socialists want an announcement, but they want to decide.

I don't believe that the socialists want to vote for an announcement, but they want to elect their candidate for the Municipality of Tirana!

I've been writing to a lot of good people from the region these days.

They told someone: "You will be, start working," and he started working hard. They confirmed to someone else: "I have you, deal with the people," implying that "it could be you."

Look, this is very good. There is vitality, even though it is invisible, even though "it is not the moment."

I like to have competition, concrete work in the territory, discussions about solutions.

I am also one of them and I did not expect someone to tell me: “It will be you, work now”. No. I felt the people in the streets and neighborhoods of Tirana, I saw what does not work and creates problems. I am understanding the city and its needs alley by alley. I am talking to many people about what needs to change radically in this city, to restore it to become livable again.

I'm looking forward to the race and I'll go all the way, as always, to win this job, because it's work.

I don't expect an announcement on the wall or on the air. The announcement is not valid, it's old. The crisis we are experiencing is fundamentally about the way we decide, and the announcement, which is generally exclusionary, is no longer an element of decision-making.

Socialists, first and foremost, but also the people more broadly – especially in this city – want to be part of decision-making, not to receive and vote on announcements as a product of a decision-making process that is becoming increasingly narrow and that does not include them.

This must change and Tirana deserves it!
