The Complaints and Sanctions Commission decided that the only mandate won by the Albania Is Done Initiative in the May 11 elections should be passed to Ana Dajko.
She was ranked first on the closed coalition list in Tirana.
In this way, the KAS decided to partially reject the appeal of the Albania Becomes Movement, which wanted the mandate to be passed to Adriatik Lapaj.
Earlier, the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, had handed over the mandate to Lapaj's cousin, Kleana Xhuvani.
The rapporteur of this complaint, Elvis Çefa, explained that the resignation on May 11 of the candidates on the closed list of the 'Shqipëria Bëhet' coalition is "null" and cannot be taken into consideration.
"Consequently, the subject cannot expect to approve a law that is null. Under these conditions, this act does not create any legal consequences because withdrawing from the candidacy means in itself the cancellation of the candidacy list of that electoral subject, which has the legal consequence of prohibiting that subject from competing in the elections, which at this moment, which has been chosen to be done as a political strategy by your side, is impossible as a process," said Çefa.
The issue of the Albania Becomes Initiative's sole mandate created a clash between the coalition leaders, Endrit Shabani of the Thurje Initiative and Adriatik Lapaj of the Albania Becomes Movement.
