The Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation has presented a draft strategy for cinematography. It provides for the conversion of the National Center of Cinematography into an Audiovisual Agency, an increase in budgets and the revitalization of cinemas.

At "HangArt", a new structure that combines art with the hangar, a meeting with filmmakers was held this Tuesday. Dozens of filmmakers attended the presentation of the strategy for cinematography, in this recently inaugurated new glass structure, a structure that resembled a greenhouse in terms of high temperatures, which was also agreed by the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja. At the beginning of his speech, he spoke about the temperature and the things that may not be going right.

Further, the Strategy for Cinematography was presented, which comes after several consultation meetings with filmmakers.

The strategy envisages: the conversion of the National Center of Cinematography into an Audiovisual Agency, an increased and stable budget, the urgent drafting of the new law on audiovisual by starting amendments in September until the new law is made, and the revitalization of existing cinemas and organized network for the distribution of Albanian film.

In more detail, the establishment of the Albania Film Commission is expected, which aims to attract international productions and actively promote Albania as a destination, the implementation of tax rebate for foreign productions, as well as the design of education programs, the establishment of a national digital platform for the industry, which will be an online database for film locations, artistic and technical talents, studios and equipment, etc.; the creation of an office for attracting large investments, support for the construction of studios taking as space, the area of the Elbasan Metallurgical for production studios, etc.

While the presentation was made by Deputy Minister Lira Pipa and the Director of the KKK, Jonid Jorgji, Minister Gonxhja, promised political will and budgets, while apologizing for what has not gone so far.
