The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, testified for about 3 hours today in SPAK regarding the CEZ-DIA affair, which was reopened in April last year.

After leaving the SPAK building, in a statement to the media, Meta stated that there is no act, no document that he has favored anyone in any capacity.

But Elvis Mata, a former director at DIA, Kastriot Ismailaj's company, may be the "key" to unraveling this affair. Sources indicate that he may have become an associate of justice.

Meta admitted that Elvis Mata was part of the LRI, but considered him an ordinary fraud.

For the CEZ-DIA file, Kastriot Ismailaj was sentenced in 2017 to 11 years in prison for "fraud with serious consequences" and "cleaning the proceeds of the criminal offense". The court also ordered the seizure of 5 million euros. He was the administrator of the DIA company, in charge of collecting CEZ debts, where he was involved in a fraud scheme, destroying the relations between the Albanian state and CEZ, at a great cost to the state budget.
