Prime Minister Edi Rama has given an ultimatum to the owners of bars and restaurants in Vlora to clear the sidewalks in the Lungomare area in Vlora.
"You have 48 hours to return their sidewalks to citizens and tourists and to remove all types of iron and concrete, by pulling the "pergolas" to the line foreseen by the Lungomare project!", Rama writes in a post on "X".
He emphasizes that the land is not owned by the builder of the building, but the land around the building is owned by all the residents, just like all the common areas!
"From Monday you will no longer have anything in your hand!" he warns.
Edi Rama's post
This type of occupation on the beautiful Lungomare of Vlora belongs to a new category called "Pergolas", which precedes the request for legalization with the scandalous theory that the land is owned by the builder of the building, while no, the land around the building is owned by all the residents, just like all the common areas!
The problem with these Vlora "pergolas" is that they have extended beyond the area foreseen by the project for placing tents and chairs for services and, as in the case marked in the photo, have also opened up on the sides of buildings, taking over the sidewalks, under the closed eyes of inspectors and municipal leaders for years!
Now my call to all the squatters of the Lungomare sidewalks is: You have 48 hours
to return their sidewalks to citizens and tourists and to remove all types of scrap metal, concrete, and to move the "pergolas" to the line foreseen by the Lungomare project!
From Monday you will no longer have anything in your hand!
