Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting this afternoon, July 3, 2025, with the deputies of the Tirana district, but also with the leaders of the Municipality of Tirana.
The meeting seemed to be quick, as it lasted less than an hour.
At this meeting, there were the new socialist legislators of the Tirana district, as well as the acting mayor of the Municipality, Anuela Ristani.
It is learned that during the meeting, Rama instructed the elected deputies to go to their areas and obtain information about the problems that citizens have.
This is because there have been numerous complaints regarding services provided by the Tirana Municipality, which has concerned the Prime Minister.
On Thursday morning, Rama held a similar meeting in Vlora. With a pad in hand, the head of government crossed the threshold of the municipality where he held a meeting that lasted almost 90 minutes with Mayor Ermal Dredha and all the municipal leaders.
In the closed-door meeting, the tone was high and Rama lashed out at Ermal Dredha, criticizing him for the work being done by this institution.
The management of the tourist season, the lack of drinking water, and other problems raised by the citizens of Vlora have been part of Rama's criticisms of the mayor.
The government's number one did not stop with criticism, but demanded a reformation of all directorates, demanding the removal of all current directors.
In Rama's view, even the Vlora deputies have not done their job properly, so he asked them to reflect.
In addition to the requests addressed to the municipality, Rama took action by reforming the Socialist Party in Vlora, where he has appointed two new leaders, Klevis Kason and Erjona Ismaili, a position that was held by Pirro Vengu and Vilma Bello during the electoral campaign.
