Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that the oil discovered in Shpirag is of very good quality, the same as that extracted in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that the final answer for Shpirag oil will be given in October by the company, but added that if everything goes according to forecasts, the investment will be 3-7 billion euros. 

"The test will start in October. At the same time, the investment plan is being prepared. All that reserve to be extracted must enter the relevant infrastructure, to transport it and bring it to the domestic and foreign market. The oil discovered is of the highest quality. it is the first time that this happens in our country. The sources of oil that have been discovered before are sources of a heavy oil that is used for bitumen or solar, but it is not an oil that can enter the consumption of vehicles. According to the analyzes done in the laboratory of the Netherlands, the oil discovered in Shpirag is an oil of the same quality as the premium oil of Saudi Arabia. The estimated investment is 3 billion euros and the projection is that until the completion of all the necessary infrastructure, it is 7 billion euros", said Rama.
