The head of the DP parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, in an appearance for the media, clarified why he and some opposition MPs blocked the proceedings in the Assembly today.

He said that since every road is being blocked for the opposition, this according to him was the right form.

" As I announced after the meeting of the DP group, the situation in which the assembly was involved is abnormal. Within a week, 3 requests for the establishment of commissions were dismissed. You are journalists who cover the works in the Assembly, but have you heard explanations about why the request for the TIMS system was dropped, or the investigation of concessions in the field of health.

Zero explanations and arguments as to why the commission of inquiry is not allowed for the decision-making of the executive power. There is zero explanation as to why the opposition is not allowed to propose the members it wants to the electoral reform commission.

We wanted the Assembly to be a temple where confrontations and arguments are discussed. The road where the majority was involved, we mostly took care of ourselves and did not demand that the rights of the opposition be respected, but today we were forced not to block the session.

We would like a confrontation of ideas with the colleagues of the majority. But when you close the roads to the opposition, you can't continue. This battle of ours today is to restore normality and give the country a fair parliament.

The right of the opposition to be represented in the election commissions is legitimate. That's why we didn't allow the session to start. We would never like to go to this form, but every road has been closed to us ," he said.
