Prime Minister Edi Rama , in a joint statement with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , declared that Albanians were the only people in Europe who did not gather in " hate rallies against Israel ."
"Albania's unique legacy in protecting Jews during the Holocaust makes the bond between our countries very special. As a government, we are committed to celebrating this precious legacy and take a firm stand against anti-Semitism. Although the Muslim-majority Albanian population joined the suffering of the Palestinian people, Albanians did not gather in hate rallies against Israel. This is in stark contrast to what has happened in other European countries. Our country stands against anti-Semitism," Rama said.
Regarding the invitation to the Peace Board, Rama emphasized: " I see the invitation to the Peace Board not only as a recognition, but a moral responsibility. We will support President Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza and we will play our role within the international force for the stabilization of Gaza ."
