The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, is giving a speech to protesters gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office building.
"Honorable leaders of the DP, allied parties, honorable deputies present at this protest. Brothers and sisters, I will begin this speech with a message, that this week, terrified by our last protest, the government media did everything to put it into oblivion. My message is this. Today we are in the last kilometer, with God's help, nothing will stop us towards our victory. Today we are close to the great triumph. To many, triumph may still seem far away, when you see the crossroads at which Albania is located. But my friends, the opposition we have formed together in recent years has not been easy."
Berisha said that the opposition of recent years has not been an easy marathon.
"Say a marathon ordeal filled with the violence of the narco-state, Orwellian pressures and isolations against us, but also a stoic resistance, painful sacrifices on our part. They were years of a fierce confrontation with the regime of the narco-dictator Ramaduro, the son of an executioner who signed the hanging of political opponents and who used all means to realize his project, Albania without opposition ," he added.
"He did everything, he used prisons, manipulations, corrupt lobbying, but here we are today, stronger than ever. In our journey, from the first kilometers, we proved to the Albanians and the world that the project of Albania without opposition or a fake opposition was their shame, it was the shame of history, that we would never accept, ready for any price. In this journey, we rose like a Phoenix from the ashes and from the deepest isolation, we reached the last kilometer as the political force most supported by Albanians and sister parties around the world. We reached the last kilometer after mortally wounding the beast of narco-dictatorship and proved to be the only hope of Albanians", Berisha emphasized.
