President Begaj's decree for the return of the citizenship law is approved!

The Security Commission approved today, with political consensus, the decree of President Bajram Begaj, who brought back the socialist amendments to the "citizenship" law for reconsideration in the Assembly.

The socialist majority seems to have reflected on this amendment, which is considered to be contrary to the country's Constitution due to the way it was voted.

During today's session, the Socialist Party and the opposition represented by the Re-establishment and the Freedom Party have agreed to approve the President's decree, while the two amendments approved by the majority of 84 votes are not in accordance with the Constitution.

"I invite you to vote on the decree, dear colleagues, I would like to vote on the presidential decree "On the return of law no. 77/2023 "On some additions and changes to the law no. 113/2020 "On citizenship". We put it to the vote in principle for the amendments. The decree of the president is approved, as far as the amendments are not in accordance with the Constitution", said Nasip Naço.

Meanwhile, Ervin Salianji has commented on the vote in favor of the President's decree, saying that it would be good for the latter to hold such positions for other initiatives contested by the opposition and to show himself as a unifying figure.
