Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha was asked by journalist Flora McCarthy from Dublin whether Ireland, which takes over the EU presidency next month, has expressed concerns about the protests in Albania.

In his response, Hoxha said that Albania is experiencing a high level of freedom of expression and that citizens are openly articulating their positions.

"I was very happy to be in Ireland, it was my first visit.

We are very happy that we knocked on Ireland's door but it was open.

I was assured that enlargement will be a key element of the Irish presidency.

We discuss everything with our partners but I can't tell you about everything we discussed.

Albania is all over the news for this fantastic freedom that we are seeing for the first time in our country.

Citizens are clearly expressing their ideas.

I don't believe that it is a concern for member states at the moment because they have confidence in the European Commission's assessments.

"If the need arises, we will talk," said Hoxha.
