The Director of Communications at the Democratic Party, Alfred Lela, says that the removal of the women's name from the US was communicated to the party leader, Sali Berisha, by a representative of the US Department of State (DASH).

"There are several forms of communication that have been carried out, both in writing and by phone. He has been removed from non grata status, otherwise Berisha would not have come to the assembly and made the statement he did. You know that for a year now there have been whispers about the possible removal of the non grata status.

Berisha has never announced anything about this. It was done today for reasons related to the fact that happened, the fall of a non-grata. What Berisha says should be taken as the truth that he was the target. He has received the letters. If he says that he was sanctioned only for the visa, then that is so.

"There was a phone call from a US representative after receiving a documentary form of the news. A document stating that the non grata or sanction is no longer in effect and Mr. Berisha is free to travel to the US and with all the things that this entails," he said.

According to him, the lifting of sanctions has also dropped the charges against him for major corruption and undermining US security. According to Lela, the Democratic leader "survived" two vettings, in Albania and in the US.

"The removal of the non grata also decodes the text. Because the claim or we should say the formulation of the non grata certificate was for major corruption and undermining the security of the US. The fall of the non grata shows that it was neither one nor the other. So no evidence of corruption was found and it did not undermine the US. The non grata has fallen along with the text for which it was raised.

"It was raised by Blinken and others, things that we have said and what was claimed do not exist. Berisha survived two 35-year vettings by our people, by the new justice system here, and by the American vetting machinery, because that documentation has been in the offices there for a long time, and the fact that it fell shows that non grata was a political structure with the aim of politically attacking the opposition leader," he added.

For him, this news will affect the renewal of the DP.

"It affects the organizational and structural communicative renewal. The latter has removed the main shackles imposed by others and the horizon, opportunity and prospect of a political competition has opened up," he said.
