Berisha's Meremja and Rama's Maqua - When history repeats itself

Since yesterday, the media and portals have been bursting with news and comments about Mereme Sela, who emerged as a candidate against Sali Berisha for the leadership of the Democratic Party.

Since the scandal broke online, the DP removed her as a candidate, arguing that she does not have a high public profile.

And they did well, because she was a formal candidate and would have no chance against Berisha.

But, while they have been mocking Mereme's candidacy since yesterday, it should be remembered that on the other hand, it has been a while since elections were held for the party's chairman, since 2009.

This, with the argument that the SP is in power and as long as it wins the elections, there is no reason to hold elections for the party leader.

The last time these elections were held, Edi Rama and... Maqo Lakrori competed.

Even then, Lakrori's candidacy was called ridiculous.

It's just that, unlike the DP, the SP went all the way to the point of stupidity.

Lakrori competed against Rama, making him look ridiculous, as it was known that he had no chance against him.

So, they are right to mock Mereme's candidacy, because it would not be a serious race.

But it would be good to also remember her "counterpart", Maqo Lakrori.
