The head of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, appealed from the floor of the Assembly for the majority and the opposition to continue the work for the implementation of the electoral reform.

The head of the PR emphasized that the agreement reached with the OSCE should be at the center of the new electoral reform to restore the possibility of pre-election coalitions.

Mediu also appealed for the open lists of deputies, the vote of the diaspora and the punishment of all those people who intimidate voters during the elections.

"It is not the last joke, but it is a joke that has been going on for two years about the dysfunction of this commission. What prevents the electoral reform? Based on the agreement agreed with the OSCE, we must first restore the possibility of pre-election coalitions, as an opportunity to develop pluralism, not only for certain political groups but for any new political force. The second is to restore constitutionality in the parliament, for citizens to vote for deputies through open lists. Let's not cry today for 2008, but let's remember in 2008 when we did it. The diaspora knows better what it wants and they have presented their proposal", said Mediu.
