The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, described as appropriate the decision to postpone the meeting of the Council of Mandates and Immunity on the Belinda Balluku case until the Constitutional Court has ruled.
At the Conference of Speakers, where debates were held on the Assembly's decision, Balla said that if the DP has complaints, it can appeal according to the regulations.
According to him, the Assembly is a party to the constitutional impasse created for Balluk, and therefore the decision to await the GJK is the right one.
"If the DP parliamentary group has complaints regarding the meeting of the Mandates Council, it should appeal this decision according to the regulation. The decision to wait for the Constitutional Court is the right decision because the Assembly itself is a party to this constitutional impasse," he said.
The extension of Belinda Balluku's immunity, which SPAK seeks to arrest, has caused clashes between the opposition and majority political parties.
Since last year, the issue has been a ping-pong game between the Constitutional Court and the Mandates Council, with neither of them yet coming up with a decision, as members try to bill each other in an attempt to gain more time for Rama's confidant.
During the meeting of the Conference of Speakers this Thursday, when asked by the opposition about the postponement of the meeting of the Mandates Council, Peleshi said that the meeting was postponed at the request of Taulant Balla and Bledi Çomo , who are members of the Mandates.
