Erion Braçe: As long as the investigation is ongoing, the Deputy Prime

Socialist MP Erion Braçe has expressed his concern about the voting on the amendments to the Criminal Code during the marathon session of parliament, while also leaving a comment on SPAK's request to the Parliament to lift the immunity of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and postpone today's (January 28) meeting of the Immunities Council, claiming that the Constitutional Court's decision on the suspension from office is awaited.

The socialist lawmaker said that he is not part of the Immunities Council, as his interest is more in economic issues, but shared the opinion that " as long as she is under investigation by SPAK, the Deputy Prime Minister does not have immunity ."

He responded to journalist Osman Stafa's question on this issue:

"He has no immunity as long as he is being investigated, he is without immunity. An accusation has been filed against him, he is being investigated and he is presumed innocent until a final court decision, what did I not hear in the Assembly. As for how the Mandates Council coordinates its work, ask the Speaker of the Assembly," he said.

He further explained that:

"I am not part of the Mandates Council, I do not know, I am far from this story, how it works, the Mandates Council is far from my field of competence, I deal directly with the economy. I am concerned about what follows after the approval of the amendment to the Criminal Code that was approved yesterday. I am going out to my area in the neighborhood to see exactly this thing, I did not vote for it yesterday, it is a ridiculous law," he said.
