The process of counting preferential votes for the Tirana district has been completed, with the result that former minister Olta Xhaçka has taken the mandate from Blerina Gjylameti with a very narrow margin of 2 votes.
Specifically, Olta Xhaçka received 5,806 votes, while Blerina Gjylameti has 5,804 votes.
Meanwhile, the most voted candidate on the open list of Tirana for the Socialist Party is Blendi Gonxhja, with 22,398 votes, followed by Erion Braçe with 21,364 votes, then the Minister of Interior, Ervin Hoxha with 19,113 votes.
While Fatmir Xhafaj received 12,677 votes and Ornaldo Rakipi 9,683 votes, followed by Anila Denaj with 8,783 votes.
Outside of Parliament, well-known names from the Socialist Party, those considered "veterans", have also remained. Pandeli Majko, Mimi Kodheli, Xhemal Qefalia have not been able to enter Parliament.
Also left out are Toni Gogu, Ermonela Felaj, Etilda Gjonaj, Klotilda Bushka and even Plarent Ndreca.
In the May 11 elections, the Socialist Party and Edi Rama won their fourth mandate, receiving 83 MPs, the DP 50 seats, the PSD 3, Agron Shehaj's Mëndësia secured two seats in Parliament, while the Albania Becomes Initiative and the Together Movement each won one MP.
