After the vote counting was completed, Viktor Tushaj, candidate of the DP-ASHM coalition for the Lezha district, reacted publicly through a message critical of the way the campaign was managed by the opposition.
Unlike the official opposition line, Tushaj does not emphasize vote theft, but rather problems within the opposition coalition.
At the center of his reaction, Tushaj places gratitude to the citizens who welcomed him warmly during the campaign, but also a direct analysis of the chaos that, according to him, characterized the opposition's electoral activity.
"Now that the last vote has been counted, I feel deeply moved to thank you from the bottom of my heart for every hug, handshake, and warm word during this campaign. The journey with you was more than political, it was human. We believed that your wish was our goal. But it wasn't enough."
Tushaj harshly criticizes the way the opposition was organized in this race, noting that more than opponents of the majority, the opposition candidates seemed to be competing to steal each other's votes.
“The opposition campaign, and especially that of our coalition, turned into an individual competition of everyone for themselves. Not for the idea. Not for the citizen. Not for confronting the government, but for personal numbers. This disoriented the structures, hit morale and cast a shadow of distrust over all of us. I admit it with regret — we did not succeed in being an alternative.”
In his message, Viktor Tushaj maintains a dignified tone towards the citizens who believed in his figure, underlining that the support received will not be forgotten, and that the perseverance of his commissioners and enumerators is to be appreciated with deep gratitude.
“I am humbly proud of the trust you have placed in me. Thank you to each of you who saw the value and dedication in this difficult challenge. A special thanks to our commissioners and enumerators — true supporters of this process.”
At the end of his statement, Tushaj expressed his congratulations that the citizens of Lezha, Kurbin and Mirdita have chosen with a clear mind and with thoughts about the future.
"I sincerely wish that Lezha, Kurbini and the magnificent Mirdita have made the best choice for our common future. God bless you! Success to all!".
The Democratic Party led in Lezha with 29,484 votes within the country against the SP, which managed to secure 27,585 votes. Even after the results of the diaspora, the DP in Lezha has four mandates, while the SP has 3 mandates. Viktor Tushaj managed to get 2,002 votes.
