Prime Minister Edi Rama was present this Tuesday at the competition for the stadium project in the city of Korça.

In his speech, the head of government thanked the architect Peter Wilson who, according to Rama, is the initiator of cooperation with foreign teams that have left their mark on the most beautiful projects of Korça and beyond.

According to Rama, this stadium to be built must be beyond ordinary projects.

"We have a great potential for development and progress if we manage to join forces. The ambition to transform sports and football in the first place with an increased opportunity for tourism by providing infrastructure for foreign teams that will come to train in Albania. Korça will be the first on this new road, bringing an added economic value to the city.

In this context, I want to add that the request we have made to the architects in these competitions is precisely to see beyond the steps of the stadium or the green field, offering more than just the activity of Sunday's matches. I want to thank all the studios that expressed interest, architects and researchers with a lot of experience and the team that works on projects in Albania is expanding and they are expanding even more the offer for urban development.

In the end, I have a special thanks to one architect who is a pioneer for opening the way of our cooperation and has left his mark not only with the construction of some buildings here in Korça, but also by assisting with ideas and consultancy, Peter Wilson who it definitely has its place in the history of contemporary architecture, it is part of the development and transformation of Albania, not for a few years, but for centuries to come", declared Rama.
