The Albanian language will no longer be a condition for foreigners who want to benefit from Albanian citizenship, in case they have given birth to children during their regular stay in our country.
The government has proposed to the Parliament some changes in the law on citizenship, which foresees the removal of some criteria for its benefit. The first step is the right of a child born in Albania to obtain citizenship upon reaching adulthood, reports A2.
"A child born within the territory of the Republic of Albania, from parents with other citizenships, who reside legally in the territory of the Republic of Albania, may receive Albanian citizenship with the consent of both parents," the government's proposal states. .
After the child has received Albanian citizenship thanks to this simplified procedure, the draft law proposed by the Government also provides for his parents the opportunity to benefit from the passport of the Republic of Albania. The need to know the Albanian language does not seem to be a criterion anymore, it is enough to stay for three years regularly in the country.
