The meeting of the Council of Mandates in the Presidency of the Assembly has been going on for almost three hours, where it is expected to decide whether or not to remove the mandate of Arben Ahmetaj.
After strong debates and the interruption of the session for a few minutes, the meeting resumed with SPAK prosecutors who submitted the request.
The member of the opposition in the Council, deputy Gazment Bardhi addressed four questions to the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, who is in the session together with the prosecutor and Enkelejda Millonai.
Bardhi has asked to know if the villa in Palasa, which is suspected to be owned by Ahmetaj, is related to the Big Ring affair. He asked if the separation of the case was done in order not to investigate the persons involved as a "structured criminal group", as well as if Prime Minister Edi Rama and Mayor Erion Veliaj are under investigation.
"Is the villa in Palasa related to the Great Ring affair? Why is the matter divided? Has the cases been segregated so that these individuals are not investigated as a structured criminal group? Is Erjon Veliaj being investigated for the Tirana incinerator? Does Arben Ahmetaj have the power to do these actions without the power of Edi Rama? Is Edi Rama being investigated?", were Bardhi's questions.
However, Dumani and Millonai have refused to answer, saying that they cannot provide information on matters that constitute investigative secrecy.
