The lawyers of Arben Ahmetaj have asked for the postponement of the meeting of the Council of Mandates for the next day.

According to them, the file is voluminous and they did not have enough time to familiarize themselves with it.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 16:00 on Tuesday, while the lawyers will present the request.

The Special Prosecution Against Corruption has requested authorization from the Assembly for the arrest and control of the residence of the former Minister of Finance and former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.

The former minister is being investigated for "abuse of office", "concealment of income", "corruption" and "money laundering". SPAK, attached to the request for Ahmetaj's arrest, has also sent a voluminous file to the Assembly.
