They have staggering wealth! Who are the billionaire deputies of the new Parliament (NAMES)

Albania may continue to top the list of poor countries in Europe, but not everyone knows this side of our country. It is the Albania of the 'people', of wage earners and of the 1 million people living in families that cannot afford at least seven out of thirteen categories of deprivation (here we can mention delays in loan or rent payments for the main residence, expenses for basic utilities, installment purchases or other payments on loans taken or the inability to afford the costs of a one-week annual vacation away from home as well as the inability to afford an unforeseen financial expense worth 30,000 new lek).

But, there is another Albania, of those who have the taxes of these 'poor' in their hands, who stamp laws, but who we can say without fear that they possess formidable wealth.

And despite the successive accusations they may have faced, they have not 'scraped' at all to hide their assets. The only 'move' they may have made is passing some property as an inheritance to their children, which ultimately speaks well of them as parents.

Open Data has today listed the assets of 50 deputies who are expected to be sworn in to the Assembly in September. ZËRI carefully observed their asset declarations, which resemble those of a global elite. ZËRI brings you today a list of names of deputies, left and right, who have staggering accounts filled with money and foreign currencies, while on the screens they talk about taxes, about price increases, shake hands with small businesses before the elections and seek the votes of citizens.

And many of them haven't even ventured into the business world.

We mention here Agron Malaj n. He started his career as Regional Director of OSHEE Burrel, but in parallel he founded Global Security Sh.pk, the private security company, which has become one of the most widespread in the country. In 2019, Malaj became the mayor of Mati, but now he expects to take his seat in the Assembly as one of the wealthiest deputies. And this, thanks to the business that is officially run today by his brother, Fatos Malaj.

Arkend Balla , one of the most controversial names in the May 11 elections, has a bank account worth 2.3 billion lek, or more precisely 230,207,998.00 ALL. Do we need to add movable and immovable properties to understand the level of wealth that Balla owns?

Mirela Kumbaro is next. She entered politics with a number of properties, which she apparently still enjoys. We see only minor changes in her bank accounts.

Socialist Elisa Spiropali is also one of the people in the family who seems to have left the reins of the economy to her husband, Salarjon Totaj, who owns a business in one of the most popular areas, on "Abdi Toptani" Street, and in 2023 alone has declared nearly 40 million lek in income from this activity.

Just mentioning Vullnet Sinaj's name is enough! Everyone already knows that behind him comes the "Big Market" network, businesses, properties and an account of 84,478,626.48 ALL. The list of his assets is truly endless, but we are listing just a few of them.

Bledi Çuçi , from what we can see, has never been poor! He entered politics having property and bank accounts, and no, they have not decreased! Even if we look at the income of his wife, Delina Fico, it seems that the situation for him has always been very good, so much so that they have enabled his son, Endi, to live a life with many material goods.

With her husband Artan Gaçi's businesses, MP Olta Xhaçka can be ranked as one of the richest socialists, although they have also stepped foot in the doors of SPAK as a family on more than one occasion!

Apparently, his focus has never been the seat in the Assembly, but he has known how to navigate the world of numbers quite well. Since we're done with the socialists, we have to say that even members of the opposition are not left behind. And no, it's not money made from a career in politics, it's business money. Apparently, it's a 'life jacket' for all those who haven't been successful in collecting votes.

Although it must be said, he has stated that he donated it, but not that this has embarrassed him much financially...

Gazment Bardhi declares his salary as an MP as a good part of his income, but he did not start politics as a 'poor man'. Perhaps his inheritance played a good role in his finances.

Tritan Shehu seems to have valued the white shirt of a doctor more than his seat in the Assembly. This is shown by his income from the "Our Lady of Good Council", which is not comparable to that of a legislator.

It may be the cheapest area, but Flamur Hoxha at first glance seems to own all of Kukës! Among the many activities he has been involved in, he owns a number of real estate properties and has expanded them to the South of the country. There is no shortage of bank accounts either!
