Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Albania as one of the countries that, according to him, stands " on the right side of history" , during a special plenary session in the Knesset, held in honor of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Netanyahu praised our country for the support it provided to Jews during World War II.

He said that "Albania was the island of peace in the ocean of evil."

Addressing Rama as a " good friend ," Netanyahu stressed that relations between the two countries are stronger than ever, both on a political and personal level.

“My good friend, the Prime Minister of Albania, welcome to Israel, welcome to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel. Today the Albanian flag flies in the streets of Jerusalem. It is a heartwarming sight.”

Netanyahu recalled that until a few decades ago, such a scene would have been unimaginable, while today Albania and Israel, according to him, are closer than ever.

"Relations between Albania and Israel are closer than ever, both on a political and personal level."

He praised Albania's open support for Israel in the international arena, describing it as a principled stance in the face of, according to him, disinformation and lies.

“Our friendship is expressed in Albania's open support for Israel in international forums and in standing on the side of the truth against the lies that are thrown at us.”

During his speech, he promised financial support for Albania.

"We are ready to help you with everything. Support for security, the fight against terror, in technology, trade reforms and tourism. The Israeli people are smart, they know what they see, what they choose and they have recognized it as a tourist destination. A great place for Israelis and we see an increase of almost 1 thousand% who come to visit Albania, also thanks to your aesthetic taste, you are making Albania more beautiful", said Netanyahu.
