The councilor of the opposition, Dritan Shano, has stated that if Ilir Meta runs for mayor of Tirana, he will vote for the current mayor, Erion Veliaj.

"I saw speculations in a newspaper that Ilir Meta will be the next candidate for the Municipality of Tirana. I had no intention of participating in the elections, but if this happens I will fight for Erion Veliaj", said Shano in the show "Absolut 4" on A2 CNN.

We recall that some time ago it was rumored that the opposition will run with Ilir Meta in the local elections of 2023 for the municipality of Tirana, while Veliaj has also publicly challenged him several times.
