The GJKKO sets the date for the first hearing for Meta and Kryemadhi!

This Wednesday, the Special Court announced the date when the trial will begin for the former President of the Republic, Ilir Meta , his ex-wife, and the three other defendants.

It is reported that the trial of Meta and the other defendants will begin on April 27 , the day the first hearing will be held.

Meanwhile, at 11:00 today, the former president's appeal, which requests a more lenient security measure, will be reviewed.

We recall that the Special Court decided on March 18 to pass on to trial the file in his charge, his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi, the latter's mother Fatime Kryemadhi, Pirro Xhixho and Ema Çoku .

Ilir Meta has been in custody since October 2024. The former president is being investigated for 3 issues: the CEZ-DIA affair , LSI lobbying in the US, and the property investigation.

Currently, SPAK has closed the investigations and his file has been sent for trial.

Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi are accused of passive corruption, money laundering and failure to declare assets.
