Erion Veliaj has arrived at the Constitutional Court in handcuffs.

He addressed the numerous media present at the courthouse entrance, saying: Thank you !

We remind you that the session is expected to start at 10:00 and the rapporteur for the case is Judge Sonila Bejtja.

Veliaj had expressed his willingness to be present at this hearing and for this reason the Constitutional Court requested the Prisons Directorate and SPAK to take measures to accompany him.

The Council of Ministers dismissed Veliaj on September 25 with the argument that he had not reported to duty for 3 months.

On October 1, President Bajram Begaj decreed by-elections in Tirana, but the decree was suspended by an interim decision by the Constitutional Court.

Erion Veliaj has been held under arrest in prison since February 10.
