Erion Veliaj has spoken at the Constitutional Court, stating his claims, through which he opposes the dismissal of the mayor of Tirana.

During his speech, Veliaj focused on the Municipal Council's decision to dismiss him, in particular the socialist members.

He said that the City Council's decision to dismiss him was the most serious insult he has ever received in his public life.

Erion Veliaj: And when you believe you have given everything for this mandate, the reason for which they remove you from office comes and I quote, absence from office for more than 3 months. There was no way they could insult me ​​more severely than that.

It was the worst insult of my public life. This is the worst insult because it came from my associates, from people who know me better than anyone else.

May God forgive them. I pray for them every night and tell them God forgive them because they don't know what they did with that decision.
