The Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama celebrates his birthday today, July 4. Rama celebrates his 58th birthday. Rama was born on July 4 in Tirana, while before his election as prime minister, he held several other positions in politics.

He started his political career in 1998, when he was appointed Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, a position he held for 2 years. In 2000 he was elected for the first time the mayor of Tirana, while he was re-elected in 2003 and 2007.

The year 2011 also brought the loss of the local elections in the Municipality of Tirana, where Lulzim Basha of PD took the post of mayor of Tirana with a small margin of votes.

The year 2013 had to come for Edi Rama to be elected Prime Minister of Albania, while in 2017 he was re-elected at the head of the government, while in the elections of April 25, 2021 he also received the third mandate.
