DP leader Sali Berisha held talks with citizens today.

Berisha said that Albania is more insecure today than ever before. He also accused the media, saying that they behave as if the opposition is to blame.

"Some media shamelessly attack the opposition day and night. They act as if the opposition is to blame, but in fact the main fault lies with the government. This government is drowned in corruption. Albania is an unsafe country, the police are tainted with crime. The opposition today is stronger than ever," said Berisha.

A protesting citizen told him that it seems that the DP's protests are not worth much, as they are not bringing results.

Berisha's response was this:

"I thank you for participating in the protest. I invite you to remain undefeated. It is true that many protesters have received rubber bullets in the head or leg. But a just cause of the country is being defended. The peaceful uprising does not have an immediate effect, but we have achieved a lot. We have defended the honor of Albanian society before the whole world, giving the message that we do not agree with corruption. We have branded this regime. We will continue the peaceful uprisings until Rama leaves."

He was asked why the Democratic Party joined the Socialist Party regarding the resolution for the country's integration into the European Union.

"You have to be clear about something. Albania is entering the European Union, only for geopolitical reasons and no other. Apart from the geopolitical factor, Albania does not meet any criteria. In the resolution there is no assessment of the work of the parliament or the government. Zero. We cannot vote against integration, as the entire Albanian nation wants integration into the EU. But the DP insists that integration should be based on merit ," declared Berisha.

A citizen asked Berisha how many meters the last kilometer is, since he didn't know the end.

The Democratic leader's response was this:

"Thank you my friend for the question. Rama has always wanted Albania without opposition or to have a facade opposition. They took away our seal, they excluded us from the voting list. But again 500 thousand Albanians voted for us. Rama then started with the arrests of the main opposition politicians. He arrested the two main opposition leaders. International resolutions were adopted against the regime of Edi Rama. We made all these kilometers successfully. At each kilometer we could have gotten stuck. Protecting the vote is not an easy thing. With the black book we caused the electoral process in Albania to be branded as a farce. It is the last kilometer, because no one tells us that we are internationally isolated, because we have the greatest support. Now the next step is the technical government. But the elections have been branded as stolen. With this regime, there are no elections. I ask for understanding, because it is not an easy kilometer, but it is decisive."
