Prime Minister Edi Rama was part of a panel during his visit to Estonia. Speaking on the panel at the Lennar Meri conference, Rama focused on the situation of Europe in the new geopolitical atmosphere that is taking shape.

He said that Europeans should stop blaming and pointing fingers at the US and Trump and reassess themselves for a response to the new situation.

"Talking about NATO 3.0, bureaucratic fragmentation weakens the response, which leads us to another point that deserves attention, that political legitimacy is undermined by the pursuit of military power."

All of this worries me about where Europe is heading, instead of blaming, let's try to assess our position. Pointing the finger at the US and Trump, we need to make an assessment, understand that the context has certainly changed, what the real response will be.

I don't think it should be just about overspending and not addressing the structural problems. When it comes to the whole way we should be operating, we are no longer what we seem when we are seen as an arithmetic sum of our GDPs.

"I will close for your surprise with a question. Which I think Europe should ask itself. How much can a civilization spend to preserve itself without weakening its foundations," Rama said.
