The Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirli, today announced the latest government decision regarding state administration employees who donate blood for thalassemic children.

Manastirliu said that according to the decision, it is expected that a special calendar will be set for these employees, who will be rewarded for the donation made.


According to the minister, employees of the state administration will receive two days of paid leave, i.e. the day they donate blood and the next day, also those employees who donate blood three times a year will be given the opportunity to rest for 7 days in rest homes of ministries.

"The health of thalassemic children and those who suffer from blood diseases and need periodic blood transfusions, so today we made a decision on the activity of voluntary blood donation by employees of the state administration.

The employee can leave work on the day of donating blood, but he also gets paid the next day off. For those donors who will be part of the network of donors who will donate at least three times a year, they will have the opportunity, according to a calendar determined by the ministries, to rest in the rest houses of the respective ministries for 7 days during a calendar and which will be organized by the institutions that will deal with this activity. It is a very good initiative which will increase voluntary blood donations", said the minister.
