DP MP: Blue Eye water is being transferred to Greece

DP MP, Ina Zhupa, has made a denunciation on social media where she says that the water of the Blue Eye spring is being transferred to Greece.

She accuses the Rama government, saying that it is irresponsible and the next madness.

To substantiate her accusations, Ina Zhupa has published an article in a Greek media where it is written how an agreement is being prepared between Greece and Albania to intervene in the Blue Eye in Saranda and to transfer water to Greece.

Ina Zhupa's reaction:

"To transfer the water of the underground source of the Blue Eye to Greece, this could be the next irresponsibility and madness of the Rama Government!

Greek media ERT NEËS shows that an agreement is being prepared between Greece and Albania to intervene in the Blue Eye in Saranda and to transfer the purified groundwater to Greece. The Mayor of North Corfu, George Machimaris has again raised the issue of water transfer from Albania: “With a sense of responsibility to our society, to our visitors, we have submitted a technical proposal / memorandum for water supply with spring transfer from the BLUE EYE of neighboring Albania, taking into account and utilizing the experience of the submarine pipeline connecting the Aegina water supply with EYDAP in Salamis, the accumulated experience of the local government and existing studies such as that of the Polytechnic (1991) ”.

Blue Eye is a natural park and has the status of protected area since 2002. Works, pipelines, interventions would be categorically prohibited and to the detriment of this cultural heritage.

Saranda, Delvina, other cities suffer from a lack of drinking water but have never considered such an illegal intervention in the Blue Eye.

How could one think that this illegal intervention was made to supply Greece ?!
