Prime Minister Edi Rama and counterpart Albin Kurti spoke again about the Open Balkans initiative, a regional initiative where Albania is a co-founder, while Kosovo refuses to join due to disputes with Kosovo.
"Our relations are fraternal, the brothers have no mediators. "The Open Balkans is a multilateral initiative and I have nothing to add about it," said Albin Kurti.
While Prime Minister Edi Rama stressed that the Open Balkans do not divide Albania and Kosovo.
"The Open Balkans do not divide us. At this point we have different perspectives, but we do not prevent ourselves from continuing to move forward in bilateral relations. "My message to the government I lead is that everything we live in the Open Balkans must live with Kosovo ," Rama said.
"I also have news for those who seek to find reasons for commenting on disagreements and lack of proper work progress between the two governments," Rama continued, emphasizing: " With the current government we have the highest rate of signing agreements. signed including past ones. I hope it will be considered a fact and not for speculation that I am not interested in getting involved in the political life of Kosovo ".
Rama also offered an economic balance in figures: “ The trade volume between Albania and Kosovo has been 136 million euros, a ridiculous volume. Today we are at 433 million euros, which is not yet the volume we have the ambition to achieve, as we have stated that we want more than 1 billion, but you can not call it more insignificant. It is not a small figure, but the result of the effort, sweat, ambition of Albanian entrepreneurs and the incentives we have been able to create ".
