The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, gathered all the branch leaders this Friday. He stated that the May 11 elections are unique, as for the first time half of the electorate is abroad.

For this reason, the electoral campaign with Albanians abroad is of equal importance to that within the country, according to the leading democrat.

"Now we have two heads for the elections. This is our history. But this is a great achievement because half of Albanians will exercise their constitutional right to vote at a time when they did not exercise it and this did not happen with any other nation but us. We are making great efforts to ensure that this process is transparent, honest and cannot be captured by Edi Rama and his gang, who constantly make every effort to capture it, but we are for a transparent process, a process that excludes manipulation and guarantees the correct counting of that vote. This process takes place in Albania and abroad. It must be acknowledged that both phases, what takes place in Albania and what takes place abroad, are of paramount importance for this process, of course our work within the country is decisive ", he said.

According to Berisha, one of the reasons that will most strongly influence the DP's victory will be the vote of immigrants.

"Remember that nothing will have a stronger impact on victory than the votes of hundreds of thousands of oppositionists who, persecuted in one form or another by this regime, have taken to the streets. Edi Rama and the regime are already discredited ," said Berisha.

For this reason, Berisha set clear tasks for the heads of branches. He stated that an emergency schedule is needed for the identification of immigrants who vote in the elections.

"I know that you have started the work, but the pace of this work must be urgently accelerated. A new schedule will be drafted by the district leaders and will be distributed to the branch heads and you your schedule. I want an emergency schedule because the vote, the emigration vote, that is, half of the electorate ends on March 12. A deadline has been set for their registration and those who register or this process ends on March 12. After this date, the process closes for 1.5 million voters. Those 1.5 million voters are first on the voting lists. You have them on the voting lists. You then have them in every family and everywhere, but the voting lists are the basic documents of your orientation. The results so far are not what they should have been. I know that work has been done and is being done, but this requires that every branch, every district leader take charge, engage additional forces to complete this process as soon as possible. "Each branch must have an operational manager of this process who controls it every day. You as mayors have this most important task ," Berisha said.
