"The maliciously spread news that the Municipality of Tirana is destroying evidence and documents is not true," said the acting mayor of Tirana, Anuela Ristani, in a public reaction.

She referred to a denunciation by the opposition where several boxes being moved from the Municipality of Tirana were claimed to be documents of this institution.

"We, in the Municipality of Tirana, are no longer surprised by anyone accusing us without evidence, without any reason other than public interest. We have seen and heard all kinds of strange things. The answer has been only one, we will continue working. The Municipality of Tirana is accused of burning trucks with documents in broad daylight, in front of a lady who was accused by the Democratic Party on the sidewalk in front of the municipality. This is a level of stupidity worthy of a soap opera, where there is no lack of action, satire, or sadness. The latter is for those citizens who do not mind being filled with slander and fabrications," said Ristani in a video on "Facebook".

Ristani said that the Municipality of Tirana ensures that every document is rigorously preserved in the archive.

"We are not afraid, neither of anonymous letters, nor of those with an author. The work keeps our heads high with a look in the eyes of every citizen of this city, as the work will not stop," she said.
