Meeting Lulzim Basha with Gunther Krichbaum

The Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha met today with Gunther Krichbaum, Spokesman for European Affairs of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the Bundestag and member of the Political Assembly of the European People's Party.

Basha said that the fight against corruption is a national priority of the Democratic Party, vital for the progress and economic development of the country. Albania ranks among the most corrupt countries in the world and this makes the fight against this phenomenon even more urgent.

"The Democratic Party supports the work of justice institutions and encourages SPAK to resolutely continue its efforts to end impunity and to bring to justice those who have abused the money and trust of the citizens", declared Basha.

Focusing on the developments in the Democratic Party, Basha emphasized that the party is in a process of reorganization, "where many young people have already become part of the responsibility to build the alternative that Albanians expect and want. Within March of next year, the DP will select the team of candidates for deputies and will start public discussions on its program, with proposals and objectives that will change Albania and accelerate its entry into the EU", says the announcement of the DP .
