Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by ministers and local officials, inaugurated the Llogara tunnel today, passing through it with a bus full of socialist sympathizers.
A special reception has been reserved for Rama, as both at the entrance and exit of the tunnel he was accompanied by traditional Labce songs that have praised him.
Rama said that both the Llogara tunnel and the Vlora airport, which will become operational next year, were his promises kept for Vlora.
The Llogara tunnel is almost 6 kilometers long, and is reported to shorten the passage on the axis towards the south coast by about 35 minutes.
The tunnel cost about 200 million euros and this year it will be free of charge. Next year, passing through this tunnel will cost 5 euros.
