Prime Minister Edi Rama has described the Socialist Party's fourth governing mandate as a "historic burden," emphasizing that it is not an ordinary mandate, but a trust that requires maximum commitment and deep responsibility.
Emphasizing the major objective of Albania's membership in the European Union by 2030, Rama described this mandate as "the greatest test of character and patriotism" for all members of the parliamentary majority.
He called for dedication, wisdom and a sense of solidarity within the socialist team.
"The fourth mandate that we have just received is a story in itself. If in our big family victory is measured by the number of mandates we received, for us, the fourth mandate must be measured by the enormous burden of a historical responsibility that the people threw on our shoulders with the weight of 83 mandates. There are 83 stones on our backs. This is not another mandate, but a bequest that comes from afar and that we were lucky to be at the right time and place and we have the privilege of being given the opportunity to bring to the country, turning the next 4 years into the greatest test of character and patriotism, to climb Albania 2030 to the peak where the EU house stands. All of us here are the first to bring out to the end the full meaning of this ordeal and assign to ourselves as individuals, then as a team the weights that we must necessarily carry that of character and patriotism, to lead it to "The entire army of this battle for history. Doing our job with pride, with wisdom and dedication. All of this embodied with a meaningful sense of solidarity among us ," said Rama.
In his message, Rama also addressed those MPs who will not return to the Assembly after the elections, urging them to see the situation as a new opportunity for professional growth and political contribution in other forms.
"I want to tell those who will not return to Parliament in September that I understand their sadness about the individual competition. There is no individual competition that you can lose without getting upset, even when you play with the children with a ball you have a moment of sadness if you realize that you are no longer the first one and they are no longer the youngest and you won. But I assure them that if they see the loss of their job as a new personal and professional opportunity in another workplace but in the service of the same common goals, as winners of the historic mandate of May 11, they will not only be useful, but they will enrich their political and professional careers and if they want to return to the Assembly, they can compete again in the future," said Rama.
