The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, spoke about the registration procedure of the Democratic Party in the local elections of May 14. During an interview for the show "Log."
Celibashi stated that the law clearly defines which documents must be submitted, not excluding the fact that DP risks being excluded from the election registration.
"We can in any case make a figurative circus and give the interpretation we want. If the law says that this document must be filed, it means that that document must be filed. If the provision says document "X" must be presented, then there is no other solution ," he said.
He was asked who is to blame if the DP is left out of the elections.
"Whose fault is it, I don't have the point of interest" , added Celibashi.
He also clarified the statement made at the meeting of the Central Election Commission where he said that "in his personal perception, the leader of the Democratic Party is Sali Berisha". To clarify his statement, Celibashi said that it was all a statement made as a reflection of the claims of Sali Berisha's representative at the CEC meeting.
"As long as the legislators have foreseen that the Commissioner's decision-making will be contested in the KAS and the KAS's decision-making will be contested in the Electoral College, the decision-making may be different from each other. We must presume that the decision of the Electoral College should have been the decision it had taken. In the perception of the DP chairman, there is no place to talk about how long you have been in the position of a public official.
What someone has tried to bring out of context has been part of the narrative. Anyone can give the meaning they want to someone else's words. We live in this reality. It was a statement that was part of the explanatory narrative and reflected the claims of Mr. Sali Berisha's representative. Underlying that claim was that statement. To say that perceptions cannot decide. It is difficult to explain anything with a narrative," stated Ilirjan Celibashi.
